Cerebrolysin is a proprietary neurotrophic preparation consisting of a mixture of low-molecular-weight peptides (≤10,000 Da) derived from enzymatically hydrolyzed porcine (pig) brain tissue. It contains fragments mimicking neurotrophic factors (e.g., BDNF, GDNF, NGF, CNTF) and is researched/investigated for neuroprotective, neuroregenerative, and cognitive-enhancing effects in conditions like stroke, traumatic brain injury, dementia, and neurodegenerative disorders.

Cerebrolysin is a complex preparation composed of low–molecular weight peptide fragments and free amino acids produced through enzymatic hydrolysis.
